A long time supporter of the Edmonton Cat Fanciers Club has graciously offered her services to families displaced or affected by the wildfires of Northern Alberta.
Dr. Eunice Johannson Registered Psychologist is offering free group counselling for residents of Fort McMurray who have either experienced the loss of their cat, dog, horse, bunny rabbit, bird etc. or are uncertain of the outcome for their dear one(s). Dr. Johannson has extensive experience as Facilitator for the Pet Bereavement Support Group for many years with the Northern Alberta Pet Therapy Society. She also has worked many years with employees of oilfield companies there through Employee Assistance Benefit plans, and has expertise in trauma counselling and Critical Incident Stress debriefing. Importantly, she grew up within an animal loving family on a farm in Saskatchewan and continues to be passionate about all furry and feathered ones we are blessed with and has personally experienced losses over years.
